i have steel wheels with winter tyres and i got 16 tapered bolts from Ross which are perfect and i torqued them to the same at the alloys and checked after a trip to work and back (22 miles each way) and they are fine.

      Help!

I went to put my Bellones back on this weekend (cross fingers for no late snow) and I couldn't for the life of me find the wretched wheel bolts...

Can anyone help me with the right spec for the wheel bolts, and where I might obtain a set cheaply? No need for them to be locking bolts - wheel-theft isn't a problem in these parts.

The originals are bound to turn up - as Spike Milligan said, "Everything's got to be somewhere" - but I'm storing mountains of furniture & household stuff for a family member in my garage at the moment, and it's not due to be removed for another 2 months. My bolts are probably buried somewhere at the bottom. Another case of no good deed going unpunished. Damn!

I'm taking my winter wheels off this week too, and the winter tyres are on my Bellone wheels. If you havent had a reply by Wednesday night, i can post up the size if you like

Got a nasty, condescending letter from the Hermes courier saying how dare I accuse or insinuate he may have been responsible. He is also a company director (dry cleaning franchisee) and would never do anything like that. Apparently according to him, a statue of the kind stolen would not be in keeping in the area he lives. Funny that as I have been up to where he lives and he has many statues in his back garden but not mine atm.

Wanted a full and frank apology or his solicitors would be getting in touch. Not replied and have no intention of doing so either.

Can anyone tell me whether the standard flat-seated wheel bolts for Bellones are 17 or 19 Hex? Cheers!

Just as well I didn't take the word of the ebay seller who assured me that they were 19s.
