  • Chaning out Factory fitted radio (Newbie Question i bet)

Hi all now ive done some looking around and cant seem to find any clear cut answerers. hence the post sorry if its really redundant but i have had a nightmare in the past with changing head units with extra features.

So here is is i have a 2012 plate ds3 1.6 with most the bells and whistles apart form the stereo . its a stock stereo with steering stalk wheel controls, my question is 2 fold really can i change the head unit out and retain the features such as the controls and revering censors with adapter cables and if so what should i use and will it be comparable with most if not all head units.

    Thanks in advance !

You'll need a Connects2 adaptor to keep the controls IIRC.

It depends exactly what you want to switch to, another single din stereo, or a touch screen stereo?

If you want to switch to another single one it's a pretty easy swap out with a Connects2 adapter as Beef mentioned which will retain your steering wheel controls as well as reverse sensors.

If you wanted to switch to a touch screen this is still a pretty simple process just a little more kit required and some extra time to install it, a couple hours compared to maybe 30 minutes. I have done this one my self, you can find some before and after pictures here: http://www.ds3club.co.uk/forum/ds3/d...805#post347805
