  • Passenger door GRINDING and Squeaking!

Dont have a clue whats happened to my passenger door, but its not right.. dont feel right as you close it and when it opens its sounding like a car thats 30 years old. Happened overnight last week.. and no WD40 is not helping.. sounds worse than something needing greasing.. but due to broken arm cant go and get it sorted for a while..

WD40 is a de-greaser - you might want to try adding some grease see if that sorts it out, worth a shot

First things first, is the noise coming from the hinges or from the door clipping the front wing?

If the noise is from the hinge then the bolts may need to be re-tighten, also check to see if the hinges are covered in a yellow film as that is the grease to ease the movement. No yellow means you need some grease.

If the noise is the wing catching the door then you will need to see your dealer about having the door adjusted.

I think its the hinges to be honest.. dont sound right..when opening or closing.. its not been damaged in anyway.. so not got a clue how and why its doing it. seems to not align correctly when closed.. but unable to drive it around yet so when my arm is better its going straight to the dealers.. thanks

The easiest way to check to see if the door is a align is to take a 10p piece and run down the door gaps, if the coin sticks at a low or high point then the door is out of alignment.
