  • ESP warning light after changing steering box

    Hey guys,

my mechanic (not citroen) changed the steering box and now the ESP light is on constantly. It says that the spare is defective hence the warning light, we installed another spare and the light is still on. The 2 steering box are not brand new but professionally refurbished (so not one just the ones coming from the scrap yards) . Would you have any idea on what the issue might be?

Esp ? Has nothing to do with steeringbox i think. You should reset the steeringbox ecu and abs ecu (this one has the problem) using lexia. Coule fix the problem. Also check the abs sensors to make sure they aren't broken by the installation. If you see esp you should think abs as they are the same system!

esp/asr rather, not just esp. I've been collecting various opinions and it seems is either your explanation or the steering angle sensor to be calibrated. Let's see what it will be. many thanks!

Ah yes, the steering angle sensor. Totally forgot about that one. Had problems on my c2 loeb in the past causing a esp problem. Was a broken abs pump. C2's dont have that sensor. Anyways, yes you can probably get away with just resetting (clearing codes) all the ecus.
