  • Sticking Cabriolet Roof

    Hi
I have an early 2013 DS3 Cabriolet. One side of the roof is jammed and so won't open.
Citroen have told me parts are not available and the roof comes as complete item (£80 to be told that) the cost of the new roof is over £5,000 + fitting £600
Does anyone know of a garage that is able to possible repair these type of sun roofs
I have been told this by Citroen Uk too that the roof is one complete item with no parts available........ car probably only worth £6,000 anyway
    Thanks

There must be a reason for the jam. What was the report for the car?

Nothing new here with dealers I'm afraid. They tend not do fix but replace as it is the simplest option for them. I had a similar problem with a Smart car cabriolet roof and tried to fix it myself. I ended up finding a roof specialist and got a refurbed roof delivered and fitted for 500 quid. So don't despair! I also have a DS cabriolet so have taken a particular interest in your problem, not that I have got a problem yet but it has prompted me to do some research. If the cables are knackered I have found a part number which might be handy. I haven't found a specialist independent DS Cabrio roof repairer, but have found these people. http://www.caymanautos.co.uk/convert...-roof-repairs/ I have a suspicion that the Fiat 500c roof is not too dissimilar to the DS and is probably made by Webasto. I would give these folks a call. Let us now how things go

Now that it is out of warranty, have you considered going to a local garage to get another opinion?

How did you get on with your sticking cabrio roof?

My late 2013 cabrio is off to the Citroen dealer tomorrow to deal with the roof not opening. Luckily its still under the dealers 1yr second hand Citroen warranty.

If you have no other options try contacting Citroen dealers in France and Germany to see what they would charge. The cost to replace the roof in the UK is less than €7,000, so may be worth coming to the UK to get it done because the car ferry to Dover is cheap. Good luck with resolving the problem. Bill.

I believe the roof in made by the German company Webasto and hence why the cables come from Germany.

I do live in the Netherlands.

My DS3 Convertible roof from 2013 (not the Plural) no longer opens on 1 side, the right.

The engine on the right was disconnected and the motor itself works fine. (you can see that when you have the motor in your hand and then operate the roof. Motor toothed rotates with force). Also the wheels in which the engine gear engages, at the top of the trunk lid, are still good. (Visually you can see that)

It is very likely that the cable is broken or the conduit in the gutter is blocked or the latch on the right front is stuck (because the cable is broken, for example)

The Dutch 2 Citroen dealers I visited indicated that they themselves have no experience with it and that they do not want to start even. I expect to be able to move forward with some tips myself.

Who has experience with this to take this apart? Useful tips / descriptions are very welcome.
I especially want to know how to check and replace the cable.

                      thanks in advance
