Hello, even though i love my ds3 its making my mad ! When i start it in the morning and go to work, (directly on the main road 90kmh) it takes about 9 kilometers (6miles) to warm up to working temp. Sometimes if i turn on the heater it doesent even reach the working temperature. If i travel downhill or accelerate really hard and then release the gas and shift to 6th gear it drops down. I cannot replicate the results everytime. When it was really hot in the summer it was also dropipng the temperature gauge. When i leave work and drive slowly trough the city it heats up quicker. I was at a local mechanic and he said nothing was wrong, after a few months i went for the yearly service to the citroen shop and they said nothing was wrong, i mentioned the coolant loss and they just topped it up and said its all ok and they were looking at me funny. It looks like in this video from some guy : https://youtu.be/X2lWaZvX2eE?t=20 . Today i was at another mechanic and when i arrived to him, he unscrewed the coolant tank cap and it bubbled for a bit, and the water raised from the min marker to the max marker. He immediately said it was the head gasket. But im not having coolant in the oil, white exhaust smoke or puddles underneath the car. It dropped from max to min in about 3500kms driven.
I read on this site that its probably the thermostat, it says that the symptoms appear after 70.00kms i have about 76.000kms https://www.etuners.gr/peugeot-citro...servicing-101/
"Although the thermostat is electronically controlled, its mechanical valve starts to under-perform over time. This leads to longer warm-up periods in the morning. It also leads to the coolant temperature going colder when travelling downhill or off throttle. Both these problems usually become evident after 70.000km. Replacing the unit fixes them. It is a good idea to replace the engine’s coolant every 2 year maximum, as it loses its rust protection properties."
Does anybody have experience about this? Im so worried right now its driving me mad. Thank you.
