2011 Ds3 1.6 110hp engine cliking noise (with video)

Hi,

Im from Portugal and i bougth a 2011 DS3 1.6 110hp - Stock - and i noticed a noise comming from the engine when i take my foot off the accelarator.

The noise is just like this one here :

(only makes the sound when a gear is on and when deaccelarate)

Do you know what this could be?

from what ive seen it seems to be the injectors.... but i dont know if its just an adjustment issue, complete replacement of the injectors or even software upgrade.

Hope you guys know more than me about this

When the clicking happens are you completely off the throttle, pressing the clutch, etc.

When the clicking happens im completely off the throttle just like that guy in the video (my posted video not yours lol)
If I press the clutch it stops clicking

Sometimes it doesn't make any strange sounds. it can be days without doing that noise but when it returns its just like the video ive posted i'm sure of that

Hello mate, welcome to the forums! (Quite ironic that im welcoming someone on my first post)

I've been lurking around these forums for a few months now and had/have the same issue as you, I also have the 1.6 HDI 110 and have the same clicking noise. I've learnt to live with it however it still haunts me once every two weeks or so.

But my advice is don't change the injectors, my car had an idle issue apart from this problem and it would run rough on idle, as part of warranty work they replaced all the injectors, citroen coded them to the car and did a software update, solved the idle issue however this clicking noise still comes back every once in a while. Just wanted to let you know so you don't spend money on injectors as they are quite expensive and won't fix the issue. I haven't pursued it further as my car doesn't make many miles and i won't have it for long, but i do hope you find out what it is and best of luck!

Thanks for the advise, the car is now in the mechanic so he's trying to figure it out. I will say something by the end of the day

The mechanic said that the car didnt do any of that sound like the video while was there. (that sound isn't always there, it just happens sometimes)

Also(seing the video) the mechanic doesnt know what it is... like i suspected. they just added some cleaning liquid to the diesel deposit and told me to drive the car for some days. If the noise doesnt go away im supposed to go there and they will go to the citroen mechanics (my car is still on the warranty and i didnīt bougth it on citroen's hq) so they can plug it in to the computer and see what errors appear (the place where i bougth the car doesnt have the computer sotware/hardware for the DS)

From what ive seen in diferent forums the noise is not going to go away by simply adding that cleaning liquid but ill give it a shot.
And the noise will not make any error appear in the computer. The only errors that im waiting to see there is the parking sensors error (yes sometimes they stop working and appears a message in the car's computer like "parking sensor with defect" and the service ligth pops up...they always worked yesterday in the mechanic -.-)

Im actually thinking of contacting citroen France and send them the video and they will know what is the problem.

Also my DS3 while in idle, if i press the acellerator just a bit and let go makes a strange sound that i think its connected to the video cliking noise, also they dont know what it is.
