  • DS3 HDI 1.6 110bhp 2011 whining sound & oily pipe near turbo

    Hi all,

I was driving home today and heard a whining noise which changed pitch with throttle applied. i thought maybe a air leak of some kind?

I arrived home and noticed some new oil near the yellow clip on a pipe going to the turbo, but haven't had a chance to play around with it as its dark.

Is this something to be worried about or simply a clip of some kind has come loose? I will take a look tomorrow lunch time at work and see if i can solve it.

    Thanks Tom

Just an update, drove to work this morning no whine, but I did jiggle the pipe a little bit before I left.
I looked at it at lunch time and poked about with the yellow clip which was a little oily. The pipe which I think is called an oil breather pipe seems to move in and out of the connecting pipe, is there meant to be a tight seal there?

Another image of the clip moved to one side below
