Hi New here and starting off with a fault question.
my partners 61 plate 1.6 ehdi has recently developed a fault, the SERVICE display is illuminated on the dash and eco mode is not working.
the car has just been serviced and its not the service symbol illuminated.
we had it carbon cleaned and a diagnostic test done on it which revealed.
oil sensor fault low voltage
and a few other low voltage faults
and obviously the eco mode is not working.
done some research and the esp connection was a possibility having corroded terminals, i removed the arch liner and inspected/cleaned the terminals and all was good there.
i now believe it is an alternator fault although it seems to be charging as it should. Possible that the reversible part of the alternator is faulty.
can anyone please confirm this is likely to be the cause?
Have had a quote for a replacement alternator at £400 with staff discount which obviously i dont want to spend and find its not fixed it.
Also speaking to a local repair guy but need the part no.
it starts straight away no sluggish starts etc so i dont think its a battery problem.
Hope someone can give me pointers i am mechanically skilled so able to replace it myself but dont want to throw momey at it and find its another issue.
