Updating maps

I got a message on my sat Nav saying new map update available, so I go to the mycitroen, download the new map put it on a usb.

plugged in to my car usb, screen says checking media or something then it change to checking compatibility but after that it does nothing at all, and when I do unplug it it says update failed.

am I missing a step in the car? I remember updating the maps last year and I’m pretty sure all I did was plug it in and then it asked for a code and then installed the maps. But this year nope.... I even tried another usb.

anyone have any insite?

Pretty sure the update file has to be in the root of the drive. Other than that, not sure. Is there any instructions to follow when you downloaded it?

There is instructions but the 2 examples aren’t the same satnav I have in my car... they seem to have an option to force the update but that doesn’t exist in the ds.

the files are in root, I even tried to leave them in the folder it unzips to, but it didn’t recognise anything...

I presume so.... it’s on my Citroen and my reg so it should know my car... and it doesn’t give me choices just the one download....

Try another USB drive and make sure it's formatted correctly (usually FAT32).

Did and did, still nothing.

guess ill I’ll wait for my service next year and see if they will do it...

Sorted it!

i had to go to nav screen, then settings, then maps, then click search(top left) press the map and then the install folder opened.
