A couple of times over the last week my boot has opened itself. It has never happened before and the only thing I've done recently is plug in a diagnostic scanner because I had a misfire. Anyone had this problem before or have any idea what might be causing it?

Possibly the rubber plugs are screwed out too far so it's not closing properly in the first place?
Out of interest, are you hatchback or cabriolet? I've heard of this happening with a Mini convertible and I think it's because water was leaking in somewhere and tripping the electrics. -
Hatchback. I'll check it later. Doesn't seem too tight when opening it. And strange that it has only just started doing it.Comment
