Had my citroen for only a few months, I had a front spring snap, I then found out it has a faulty thermostat/housing, today hearing knocking sounds under the car, back to my local garage, rear offside spring has snapped and all but the rear brackets on my exhaust have corroded, exhaust is solid but brackets are like paper and to top it off All discs and pads will need changing soon

Hi,
just had my 2011 thp in Citroen for water pump recall, did an inspection said rear spring cracked and pin hole in exhaust/ bracket broken so sounds like similar problems. Mine has about 66k.
Standard springs are cheap was going to replace myself. Anybody know how easy it is to do? Any special tools required?
Did you manage to get it sorted? Citroen wanted 300 quid for spring alone!!

Should be plenty of guides on here for removing and refitting suspension from people installing coilovers etc.
Unfortunately both the exhaust rusting and the springs snapping are common faults on the DS3

I’ll have a deeper search.
I haven’t noticed any problems with handling which is good. I haven’t had too many problems so far, had sp tuning sort out fuel pump and remap then drove to Italy for a two week trip, it didn’t skip a beat! Great little cars! Lots do seem to have issues though which is unfortunate!
Thanks.
