  • Car Alarm

    Hi everyone,

Ok so im having an issue with my alarm, so when i lock my car with the key fob after about 2-3 minutes the alarm will go off, sometimes it goes off at 4:30 am and i have my dad yelling at me telling me to go turn it off. Generally if i let the car lock automatically the alarm wont go off, but its starting to become a pain

So i was wondering if anyone has had something similar.

    thankss

Try disabling the ultra sonic sensors and see if it goes off.

Most the time the ultra sonics are to blame for false alarms.

If you press the lock button twice it will deadbolt the car and disable the alarm. Not ideal if you like having your alarm on, but it won't go off for no reason is it isn't on!

          This doesn’t disable the alarm...

He means that the alarm is not disabled by deadlocking the car.

have you tried blowing, or vacuuming the sensors? Might be a spider living in there!

                Exactly. It’s in the manual.

If you want to disable the sensors, you can lock the car, then unlock it, after 30 (ish) seconds it will re-lock but the sensors will be disabled.

                Alternatively:
                - Switch off the ignition.
                - Within ten seconds, press sensor button (lower right of steering wheel) until the indicator lamp is on continuously.
                - Get out of the vehicle.
                - Lock or deadlock the vehicle without delay using the locking button on the remote control.

The exterior perimeter protection alone remains activated; the indicator lamp in button A flashes once per second.

Hmm, it stopped whatever was triggering my car alarm randomly going off then!

Magic. Possibly a loose connection somewhere that deadlocking fixed? Not sure.
