  • Lack of boost accelerating from idle

    Hi,

I might be going mad but I seem to be noticing that when accelerating from idle up to say 40mph + I don't really feel any boost from the turbo, it doesnt seem to "come on", their isnt a sudden pull, it feels like a smooth n.a engine. I have the 155thp.

if I'm cruising in say 3rd at 30mph(ish), and I put my foot down I'll feel the turbo kick in and it will quickly pull the car. I don't seem to get that when I'm accelerating up from a crawling speed.

is it just that the turbo isn't running that high of a boost? And so needs more time to spool? The boost is their when I cruise a bit before putting my foot down.

    thanks.

    Hey Haceracen,

I have the same problem at certain times, even though I have since had my car remapped to stage 2. I believe my car needs to be walnut blasted by jamie, but I'm currently saving the money, as I have just applied for a Class 1 HGV licence.

Ah, well at least I'm not alone in this lol.

I'l probably look to take it for a walnut blast as well. It's on 35k so I suppose it's due.

      thanks.

Also depends a lot what gear you’re in. I find I get the most boost feeling (technical term) in 2nd from around 20 up to 55 mph. Usually off a roundabout onto a dual carriageway.
