Oil Pressure Warning

Hi all,

Was just driving home from the shops there and a got an Oil Pressure Warning telling me to Stop the vehicle, this came on and went of twice until I got home. The car hasn't been driving any differently or making any weird sounds.
I've been told to go and get my oil and filter changed before I start worrying about oil pump etc.
Was just wondering what's the best and worse case scenario really and what the likelihood was for each.

Have you checked the oil level on the dipstick? If there's no oil, there's no pressure.... Engine won't last long. So it's the first thing I'd check.

Yeah I've checked that already oil level is fine.
