  • Start stop battery e-HDI

    Hi all,

My start stop isn't as good as it used to be, in the way the engine starts very soon after stopping.

In the cold snap the engine wouldn't stop at all.

I've noticed today that on the FAP app that the voltage drops to below 12v when the engine restarts because of this I'm thinking the battery isn't as healthy as it should be and changing it would sort the start stop issue.

Has any one changed a battery on a E-HDI here before?

I know they are an AMG style battery but do you have to do anything with lexia when replacing the battery?

A lot goes on to decide how and when the start stop actually stops...

Have you tried taking the battery off and charging it overnight to bring it back to 100%? Will be far cheaper than assuming the battery has had it, my only be low on charge.

      Thank you for your reply.

Yes I understand there are several things that determine when the engine kicks back in but it seems to be the voltage dropping each time it's kicked back in that I've seen.

I did try giving the battery a charge while I got to work and made no difference. I drive 30 minutes plus to work and most of it is on the motorway so I thought that would be enough to charge the battery up.
