  • Boost Pressure and Vacuum

    Hi,
and first of all sorry for the poor English
Can someone please tell me the normal Turbo Pressure of the Performance? (Overboost and holding)
And second Thing...(puh thats getting hard in English)
I had a THP155 before and fitted a Prosport BoostPressure Gauge with an Adapter on the Intake Manifold wich worked fine.
Now i have installed this Gauge in my Performance the same Way,in the same Place and with the Adapter the original MAP-Sensor is still on too.
The Gauge now shows nearly no negative Pressure in Idle-only something about -0,1bar.Positive Pressure is working fine.
On my old THP the Vacuum was about -0,8bar.
I first thought something was wrong with the Install or the Gauge itself, but if i take the Hoseline off,put it in my Mouth and "manually" draw, the Gauge is showing that perfectly.
I dont think its a leak when its mounted back on,cause i can fell the Vacuum when i put my Finger on the Adapter. And IF there is such a big leak the Enginge schould stutter or wont run at all i think.
And last not least the Original MAP-Sensor shows the same Results.
    So any Ideas whats wrong?
Or is something different to the "older" THP Enginges and i cant get Vacuum at the Intake Manifold?

Thanks to everyone who has made it through the Text

    Hi,
    First, you're english isn't that bad !
Boost pressure should be 1.2 bars i believe. Thp goes to 0.8 or 0.9 and racings go up to 1.2 as far as i can remember.
Make sure the connections are all ok and you're not sucking air into the manifold through a bad connection.
Check the pressure using a odb 2 tool, this will show you the underpressure also.

      Thx...
So these 1,2 for the "old" Racing is what i know too.
Thats why im wondered about the 1,6-1,7 my Performance do in Overbosst.I dont know if they have changed something.
For the Gaugething i can say that the Connections are all ok cause i checked them several times and also replaced the hosinglines as well.
I DO check the Pressure with a Bluetoothdongle and Torque and it says the same Results as the Gauge-thats my im wondering and start to think that there is no problem at all.But as far as i know it from my other Cars and the old THP there has to be more underpressure at the Intake Manifold-thats why i started to wonder....

        Your gauge is reading correctly.
These new engines run almost zero vacuum at idle. It’s because this engine doesn’t have a throttle flap like your other car had.
Throttle opening is controlled via variable valve lift in these engines
