Took my car back to the dealership as it had an Active city brake error message from new . They cleared the message but how can I check that it's actually now working ?

I was planning to do a test of the system but didn't have a chance to do it. One time while driving I got an error message which was something like "automatic braking system fault". It cleared on its own but I started wondering if it really works... Much later I drove towards a door (you know, when going into a garage etc.), and I was braking and planned to stop because the door was still opening. When the front of the car was almost at the doorway, brakes kicked in and a message appeared on screen: automatic braking system invoked. I did the same "test" later and it worked every time.
