Hi guys,
Wondering if some one can help,
My wife bought a 1.6hdi ds3 and by day 2 the timing belt slipped and we lost 8 teeth, so ive rebuilt the top end 8 new rockers, 8 new valves, new gaskets all back on went to put the new timing belt on yesterday and did so cam pinned, crank pinned and fuel pump pinned, car wont start, today i started thinking why and i started thinking the cam could be out so i tried rotating 1 turn and nothing then i rotated the crank 1 turn and still nothing was thinking along the lines of 180deg out.
Now starting to think could the crank and cam timing be correct but the fuel pump off? there's 2 holes 180degrees apart does it matter which is used? could it just be 1 full turn off on the basis that the crank turns 2:1 on the fuel pump and cam?
Any assistance much appreciated im really racking my brains now, car turns maybe 1-2 times and then just stops untill you back key off and try again, yet turns free by hand
