I had what I thought was a temperate sensor fault which kicked in 'limp' mode whilst i was on the M6 and the fan thought it was overheating. I had this issue back in 2016 but hadn't any limp mode kicking in back then and had Citroen repair it.
With the new problem, I went to a garage close to me where I could drag it in limp mode too. He was a little reluctant to fix the issue as there were other error codes (one for the PAT fluid low, which another mechanic did but couldn't get the service light off).
The temp sensor seems fixed now as the fan isn't kicking in and the error has gone. I still have the P Fluid Low error as before but whilst driving around last night I noticed the engine management light came on. The car seems fine, but reluctant to start dragging it up and down the M6 again incase limp mode kicks in.
There is a specialist Citroen diagnostic place recommended but they can't see it until Monday and are charging £66 for the diagnostics (seems steep but supposedly they have better kit). Then he said £60 an hour labour to fix the potential issue.
Obviously I need it checking, but will the engine management light and service light combined be an issue using locally? I'm scared of limp mode coming on again and the mechanic who did the sensor fault couldn't assure me because of the complexity of the error codes.
Any advice appreciated!
