  • Power loss in 4th Gear

    Hi Guys

Looking for a bit of help, I was driving to work this morning in my 4 month old DS3 DStyle+ 1.6 HDi when the can started to judder and wouldn't pick up speed

Citroen Assist sent out the AA who plugged in laptop to the car but bought back no error codes but when he tested it he found the same.

The car is sat at Citroen atm, could anyone advise me or if you've had the same, what was the issue and how did they fix it?

Ufff.... glad to hear that HDI owner also have some issues with engines. Till now - i was thinking engine problems concerns only THP owners.. ;-) Although mine THP is running well so far (june 2011, 6 kkm millage, after remap)

Hi I have been having this problem for a few months. My 1.6 diesel collection which I bought in April has been playing up since September. It has been to the citroen dealership 3 times. They changed the pre heating something or other ( sorry don't know much about engines ) but this did not solve the problem. They are now saying it is a problem with the software and citroen are investigating it and I need to ring them every month to see if there is any progress. This does not help me when I have got a lorry tailgating me and flashing its lights for me to speed up and I can't because of all the juddering. I now have it booked into a different dealership to see if I get a better answer as I feel I am being fobbed off.

Made me laugh! Ring them every month? Don't call us, we'll call you!!

You're right to take it somewhere else - not all Citroen dealers are cretins.

Just my car back and the answer was no fault found and that they haven't heard of any problems like this with the HDi engines, also they drove 50 miles testing the car and used 1/4 of a tank which left me with the fuel light on can anyone help on what could of caused the problem?

find it funny how one or 2 people have a problem and yous think there all going to have it . its nowhere near on the scale of the THP's . . . . .yet

I had a 110 HDI which, apart from a complete computer module failure (which locked me in the car!!) gave me no problems at all. This has now been swapped for a 90 eHdi which by comparison is totally gutless and has to be ragged in every gear to get it going.

Also, the 110 used to return 55mpg, the 90 only manages 42mpg even with stop start....how can that be???

That said, they are both company cars so I'm not paying to drive it like I stole it

Company are selling the 110 on a 10plate with 38k on the clock for £9000, if I had the cash I would buy it myself

I've been told that its something they havent seen before so i guess its a waiting game to see it it happens again, on the plus side seams to be pulling a lot better through the gears then it use to
