  • what size brake discs

ok possibly a stupid if not lazy question but..

I have a 2010 1.6thp 155 dsport plus , and whenever i go looking at brakes i am given 3 options for the front, brembo ones i assume are for the racing and then a set of 266mm discs and also 283mm .

i have looked wherever i can and i cant seem to find a straight answer on to which ones i have..i am assuming they are the 283mm ones as its the THP model but really no clue, i have the 17inch alloys if that makes a difference.

Also i am unable to do a REG search on the parts sites as my car has new plate on it and it isnt yet in the systems.

perfect world would be i can fir any of the type listed as they all have correct stud placements etc but again i really have no clue.

    thanks in advance

Hi, so, i'm new to the forum and i'm going to 'hijack' the thread.

I'm looking to exploit the ECP 50% code for brakes discs and pads for my 2013 dsport but I've broken my leg and can't get out well enough to confidently measure up.

Rears are easy as there seems to one size.

I'm looking for the size of the fronts - how can you tell from using the link in the first post? I've changed the details in the link to 2013 etc but still gives 2 disc sizes.....

          Any ideas?

          Cheers

          Nick

i would imagine you are in the same situation as me with my dsport plus, 283mm discs seem to be the ones which makes sense as they are the logical step in the brake sizes like the 266mm for the other models, dsport gets the bigger 283mm discs and the racing gets the even bigger still 300+mm. i could be totally wrong but just trying to help as much as i can

Hi, I was thinking that too.

Id just go measure them/look for the markings on the rim of the disc (likely rusted over) but broke my leg at the weekend so not really up to it.

Think I’d fall over just trying to get the wheel off never mind jacking it up.

if possible just give euro car parts a call in the morning and tell them your reg and they should be able to tell you exactly the right brakes and you still have time for the sale to get the discount, also if they tell you the wrong size you can complain alot easier than if you make the mistake!

Well, I’ve tried the online chat thingy and they couldn’t really help.

With the discount I’m looking to fit the brembo’s. It’s my wife’s car and gets driven daily so not putting cheapo stuff on (especially with the 50% off and 3.5% cash back if I go through Quidco).

                  Will attempt to measure tomorrow.

you plan is exactly the same as mine with the brembos, the discount makes them look a good buy

Yeah, definitely. Just had MOT today and whilst they are ok he said they’re getting thin - so may as well get them now whilst on offer. Obviously doing them myself to save cash.

Put eicher’s on my L200 - not sure I think much of the pads. Discs are fine though.

Yes, THP sport run 283mm discs on the front. I’m pretty sure all 6 speed use the bigger discs except DS3R and Performance.
5 speed use the smaller discs.
                          Pads are different also.
As for Brembo discs, nothing wrong with them but Brembo don’t make there own discs and pads, only calipers. They’re just rebranded.
