Hi- new too club today- can anyone help please-hit a hidden speed hump at speed weekend before last and since have had a fumey smell and taste in my Citroen DS3 Cabriolet (63) . Has anyone else experienced anything like. I'm loathe to use the motor in case it's serious and could affect driving capability. Many thanks

Hi and welcome to the forum. A hidden speed bump eh? Sounds like you've smacked your exhaust and either cracked it or it's hanging off underneath. It is alot noisier too? I'd get it to a garage to get checked out.

Hi, and welcome to the Club.
Fumes leaking from the exhaust into the car, after damage, methinks

Have a quick look underneath and see if anything is hanging off, then (If it isnt) drive to a Kwikfit for a free exhaust inspection
They will probably say you need loads spent on it, but least you will get a diagnosis, and be able to google the most cost effective solution

You don't have to spend any money there

As others have said, sounds like a damaged exhaust to me.

Thanks guys for the input-put a clamp on the exhaust and bought a load of car smellies-not passed out yet so seems to have worked. Has anyway had problems with the button on the end of the indicator stick? According to hand book it alters the readout between miles left in the tank and mpg being achieved- at moment stuck on the latter and seems to be running up and down the scale fluctuating from 10 mpg to 120mpg even though travelling at the same speed- damn computers.
