  • Engine temperature fault but coolant sensor has been changed a week ago

    Hi

My first post on here as have been lurking in the background

Have a 2014 DS3 cabrio 1.6 Is it the vht engine?

Over the last month it had the intermittent fault that many seem to have with the temperature going from the top of the gauge to the bottom, with STOP showing up and the fan running full on once the engine is off even after a short trip... as per this forum (thanks for the help!) and a local garage that is on the ball, had the coolant temp sensor along with the wiring etc .. i will say that it was a pattern part not genuine.

But that was a week ago and the same thing is happening again! ... as far as i can tell normally once the coolant sensor is changed the fault has usually been cleared for most people...

Has anyone got any ideas? could it be the thermostat? the "brain" part that reads the signals .. or something else??

It probably needs a new thermostat and housing - that sorted the same fault on my partner's car
