washer jets delay

Wonder if anyone could advise here, my wife's HDI, blue when not using the screen washers for lets say a week or so, when using they seems to be full of air and take a while before water actually starts to come out, this is the same for the front and rear washers, no leaks in the system at all as I have checked this, but it seems as if the water is draining back through the hoses into the washer bottle slowly over a period of time ?? any ideas what this could be

I'd imagine there is a Non-Return Valve in the system as most washer systems have one so it sounds as though yours is broken allowing the fluid to return to the bottle.
