  • MyWay SatNav Issues

    Hello all,

This is my first post as I have recently picked up a nice little 2011 DS3 to replace my Jaguar XF which decided to start costing me far to much to make it practical. Its the DSport turbo model with 155bhp with 52k miles on the clock.

Unfortunately my first week of ownership has not gone well and I am hoping that someone here may be able to help at least with one of the issues.

So the sat nav was on the R27 firmware and I updated it to the R50 latest release without any issue. Today however I was using the satnav and the location and maps where not lined up at all with the car in the middle of nowhere. The next time I started the car the sat nav maps did not show at all.

I looked into the first hidden menu (Holding down Settings) and its is not picking up any satellites at all. I tried both factory restoring and using the second hidden menu (settings, hold 1,2,3) and doing a system restart and still nothing.

What is next and if something has failed is it an expensive fix?

I am having a REALLY bad month so any help will be greatly appreciated!

    Regards BB

    Welcome to the club!

If it's not picking up satellites I would hazard a guess as loose connection to the GPS antenna. I had the same issue a couple of times in mine but a system restart usually cleared it after a few mins.

Unrelated to the sat nav issue, I would recommend getting the inlet valves walnut blasted as by 30k miles, it usually needs doing. (More info here). A remap is also recommended, just for the fun value

Hopefully it will kick back in then, if not is there anywhere to check the connection? I saw something about disconnecting the battery for a few minutes can be enough to reset it but wasn't sure if there was any reason against doing this.

Interesting about the walnut blasting I hadn't even heard of this before so might be next item on the list. Already looked at a remap with a local tuning company Ace Remaps Shrewsbury and they are quoting £474inc VAT with outcome of 190bhp and 300Nm torque.

No reason not to disconnect the battery for 10 mins then re-connect, you'll only need to re-set the clock. I'm not sure where you would check the connection tbh, I was planning on doing it for mine but the issue stopped happening so I never got round to researching any further.

I took mine to Jamie at SP Tuning (forum member). Got mine walnut blasted and remapped at the same time for not much more than what you've been quoted for the remap. He's had quite a few DS3s himself so he really knows his stuff. Will also get you dyno figures to prove any results.

So disconnected the battery and still no satallites. Any more suggestions? As it stands I will be without satnav for a while until I have time and money to get Citroen to look at it.

Anyone know what connections I could check?

So finally the issue has been resolved. Turned out that after my health check at Citroen the car was washed with a jet wash and it allowed water into the antenna base which caused this to break but also to damage the wiring loom. Thankfully the car wash company paid for the time to find the issues, for the new antenna base to be fitted and the repair the wiring loom and I just paid for parts.

All in all had the antenna base replaced and got them to replace the Aux input (as that was playing up anyway) and now have a working satnav and audio for the grand cost of £49.

            Could have been worse!
