  • DS3 Service Quote!

So just out of curiosity and to see what oil they would use between ineo ecs 5w30 and ineo first 0w30 i called a Richard sanders Dealership, so they said the service for my 2012 36k miles THP would include air filter, spark plugs.oil filter and cabin filter and oil change so the standard stuff...for this they quoted me £475.. i actually laughed out loud on phone, i couldnt believe it i was expected £250-£00. For comparison i just had a full 10 year service including cambelt and water pump on my foed focus and that was £500 with the cambelts etc.

So is that price normal for citreon dealers? he told me that it was the citroen system quoting the price,it just seems a bit much.

BTW he said they still use the Total Quartz ineo forst 0w30 in their services.

    rant over.

Sheeeesh. Ive a service due end of February, and as haven't had the car more than 6 months, sort of dreading what a dealership will quote

Do your plugs need changing after 36 k miles? air filter are paper jobs less than a tenner, really need a cabin filter? I wouldn't

Gets to oil filter and oil change- that's piece of cake to do yourself

Mines a diesel, and never owned a diesel before, and at just over 60k miles I am thinking coolant, DPF, and ad blue.... whatever that is
But hoping £250 or will shop around, even do some myself

i got the car 3 months ago and it had a misfire and the dealer changed the plugs because one was bad, but obviously they didnt use the top of the pile plugs, and since the car is new to me i would like to know for sure what oil etc is in there being used. just for peace of mind really

I've had a 2 full dealership services on mine, but like Chris_Blue, I have a diesel and my full services have cost less than 200 quid!! The only thing I don't ask them to do is change my air filter, as I have a K&N panel filter in there, so £475 sounds extortionate to me!!!

its the oil im not sure on, citroen and peugeot now both say to use ineo first 0w/30 oil instead of the ineo ecs 5w/30 ,thats why i wanted to see what the dealer said, i would happily use the ineo first but its alost twice as epensive as the other oil and the other oil has been used for years in these cars so i dont know what to do. i dont want to change it then have issues its a case of if it isnt broke dont fix it? opinions guys?

bad typing , i was rushing. the ineo first oil is alot more expensive than the previously recommended ineo ecs oil, has it changed because more benefit and better or is it purely business and price driven chane? i wonder

I use 5w30 version of the stuff (total brand) and not had an issue myself.

Either way, whichever type of oil you decide to use it seems like that garage is trying taking you for a ride.

Try and find a local trustworthy garage that won't take the p*ss.

Try contacting other garages to see what their prices would be.

Good luck, I hope you find somewhere ALOT cheaper.

yeah im certainly not using them, service isnt due for a little while so im picking the bits up as i go when i see than in a sale, so far got the ngk sparkplugs everyone recommends cheap got MANN oil and cabin filters, just the oil to get, just got to decide which to get, i think ill go with the Total ineo ecs 5w/30 as thats what has been recommended up until recently and obviously does the job and being about 30% cheaper also helps.

Just had a quick look at the 2 recommended oil's I could use for my car. There is a massive difference in price, what do most people use.

I use the cheapest branded stuff that come up when a registration is put in the suppliers search engine, but I will change oil and filter when mileage is no more than 5k miles than the last change.

after loooking into it and the prices the difference doesnt seem worth it especially in UK weather so i have decided on Quartz ineo ecs 5w/30 which is the oil thats been recommended for the last 8 years up until recently and the newer oil tens to mention euro 6 and start/stop engines getting more advantage with the ineo first.
