  • Rear wiper parks erratically on our new to us DS3 DSport (2010)

My wife and I bought a DS3 DSport a few weeks ago having decided that our V6 Mercedes SLK350 sports car had to go. I don't drive the DS as I have a company car. My wife told me very soon after we got it that the rear wiper doesn't park towards the bottom of the screen, but parks randomly. I swapped out the motor as previous experience suggested a fault in the motor, but she tells me it is still doing it. Any suggestions would be appreciated, or is she doing something wrong?

Thought whilst I was at it I would tell you that I have also had a carbon fibre wrap to the roof as the paint was in a poor state

Please Explain, part of the reason we bought a DS rather than a Cooper S was the fact that I have driven DS4 and DS5 Diesels for years as company cars with no issues re reliability.

What Chris_Blue means Leader400 is that is if your rear wiper is the only problem you have, then compared to problems you COULD have, that's a very small issue.

Anyway, have you checked if the nut has worked loose that holds it in place? Are you able to gently push the wiper down to the correct "parking place" when it's in motion and then switch the key to the off position, see if it resets?

Don't rag it too hard, you don't want it snapping!!

Yes, as Funky says above. There could be so many issues with any car that is purchased, especially a used car, that if a problem with your rear wiper is all you have, surely that's good

Diesels don't go wrong as much, but when I bought mine a year ago I still took a years warranty out

For instance- if you DPF goes bananas...…….
