  • Inlet valve cleaning recommendations for South of London

    Hello all,
Apologies if this has been asked before, but my searches have drawn blanks. I have an 11 plate DSport with 70K miles on the clock. It runs OK but has definite power dips which I am sure would be helped by a Walnut blast. I also want to stage 1 map it but don't want to bother with this unless I know the car is good first.
I have contacted SP Tuning and they sound great, more than happy to use but a 125 mile trip for me and a day off work so was hoping to find something more local, they would be £290. Also Turners in Richmond seem good but would be £400 as they are Mini specialists so would probably just do the trip to SP.
I was really hoping someone could recommend somewhere in between these prices, that are between South London and the coast to make life a lot easier!
    So.....Any recommendations gratefully received. Thanks.

Hi and welcome scott3823. If you have a THP and got to 70k without a walnut blast and it's running OK, you've done very well!!

I can't recommend anywhere except SP Tuning. I took a day off and drove from Preston in the North West for a remap last year and it was totally worth it. Other members who have THP's have been to Jamie@SPTuning for the Walnut Blast and have said its worth every penny and the journey. So you could go somewhere else, but if you want it doing right, I'd go to Jamie.

Thanks for the replies guys, I had a suspicion that everyone would just say SP Tuning, and that is definitely my preferred route. I really like the idea of a proper specialist giving the motor a once over. My only problem is I've just started a new job and have limited leave, so organising the trip is a right pain! Might just have to go with it though and bite the bullet!
