  • Walnut blasting in Scotland?

Hi, new owner of a DS3 THP and it has the telltale signs of needing the intake valves walnut blasted but I am based in Glasgow and the options seem to be few and far between! Contacted Ayrshire BMW & Mini Specialists who advertise it for the Mini Cooper S, but they won't touch the DS3...

I am aware of Jamie @ SPTuning, but it's a 630 mile round trip, and from reading it takes 6-8 hours so will be a pretty long day! I seen a post on Peugeot forums about somewhere in in east central Scotland, but it seems that there is just an endless amount of companies offering this hydro clean and almost none offering walnut blasting.

Can anyone point me in the right direction?

    Hi- welcome to the Club

Have you tried a Citroen dealer- they did mine under warranty (22k miles!) back in 2014 when it was new to them, they said it cost them around £800 if they had to charge
Hopefully price is down below that now

Jamie may still be your best bet- he is a DS3 expert

Surprised BMW/Mini wont touch it- they share the same THP engine!

I don't know of anyone but Jamie who does WB's tbh. Saying that it is a fair trek from where you are to SP Tuning and back. The Hydro Clean isn't a patch on a WB though. So save your money by not having that done.

I found someone on Facebook that seems to get a very good rep amongst the Peugeot and Mini groups that offers THP walnut blasting 80 miles from where I am. £150 and takes 3-4 hours with 3 hours travelling means it can easily be done without having to up crazy early or book accommodation. Hopefully will have it done next weekend so will update the group with the findings.
