  • Just bought a DS3 THP 2010

    Hi everyone,

I have bought myself this weekend a DS3 THP 1.6 2010 I have been reading a lot of forums and reviews all saying similar things about the Citroen engine, to change the cam belt, get regular services, walnut blast etc...

The car has 60k miles is in perfect interior and exterior shape doesn’t make any odd noises or anything which would make me think that something needs to be done on it but I’d rather check in case.

What would be your advice on what I should do such as a service or walnut blast and if it’s worth doing.

    thank you

    Welcome!

It's probably worth getting a walnut blast done, if the previous owner didn't. I believe it's recommended at 30/40k miles. Jamie at SP Tuning will be able to advise.

The only other thing I can think of to recommend with the THPs is to only use premium unleaded petrol (I use Shell V-Power or Tesco Momentum in mine)

    Enjoy, they're fun little cars!

Thank you for the advice Walnut blasting does seem rather expensive...

Depends whether you are getting any issues- seems you are not

If it hesitates, stutters on acceleration, looses power a walnut blast could well help. Maybe plug a code reader into the ECU and see if it throws any historic faults up?

Premium fuel as well as BG 44K fuel additive may help. Just get a professional to check it over, but if its running fine then best probably leave it alone....
