Engine fault indicator

It never rains but it pours. Recently posted on here about a warning noise from the dash. That hasn't been sorted but we now have an additional problem.....

The wife was driving today and got a Engine Autodiagnosis System warning light. She phoned Citroen as instructed by the manual and they simply said it's the diesel freezing and not getting through.

Tonight whilst driving it we lost complete power to the car and had to pull over but also got an error message saying engine fault. This happened a couple more times before we managed to get home.

Anyone else struggling and should we simply carry on regardless and blame it on the weather ?

In 2 minds tomorrow to drive out and hope it does it again then call out Citroen assist.

Open your filler cap and take a little look around the hole, you might see some white film. If so then you might be suffering from what's called 'fuel waxing'. This is where the grade of fuel in your tank is not suitable for the weather. Supermarket fuel tends to be of a summer grade which lacks an additive which stops the fuel from freezing or becoming more solid at low temperatures which in turn causes fuel starvation.

Ah brilliant, just read that to the wife and thats what Citroen Assist said today. They were very surprised though when they asked where we fill up and we replied BP.

I suppose we simply wait for the weather to improve then.
