  • Slave cylinder change

Stupid question but have to ask. Is there anyway to change the concentric slave cylinder without removing gear box?

No, the gearbox input shaft goes through the middle of it

It's in the garage now having it replaced with the clutch whilst in there so fingers crossed that'll sort it all

As a matter of interest, what sort of price is a clutch replacement?

On my Dsport 1.6 Diesel Airdream, I was quoted £1000 for a clutch due to a dual mass flywheel (I think he said). As it happens the noise I had turned out to be Turbo related, not clutch. Just makes me think a clutch when needed is gonna be pricey.

I had quotes from 861 to 1150 but found a guy that will do the labour for 200 if I supply parts so gone with that

I think it's meant to be 8hrs book time but looks accessible so don't think it's the worst job if you had somewhere dry to do it. Gutted I haven't as I hate spending money lol

Paul Smifff it isnt the worst job like you said if you have a dry garage to do it, i've changed the clutch from a friend his C3 last saturday looks quite the same as a DS3. It took me +/- 6 hours to replace it and saved about 700-900 euro. The 200 pounds for just the labour is well worth the job, hope everything is gonna be fine with your car
