  • 1.6 THP failed MOT on high CO

    Hi All,
I have a 2011 1.6 THP 150 that has failed the MOT on emissions. It is reading 4 or 5 times over the CO limit on idle.

We have replaced the Lambda sensor, although the reading still shows a high voltage at idle suggesting it is running rich. The car has had injector cleaner run through it, was run hard before the test, and lives it's life on the Italian Tune Up so these won't solve this one. It has been mapped and has a GFB turbo valve and K&N panel filter, otherwise it is stock. I have had a carbon clean (not walnut blast as can't afford the trip and expense) which probably has solved the coking but would have thought would have helped in a small way! It has also had all recalls done so I think there was a thermostat recall.

The car runs at just below half way on the temp guage ordinarily, although I know the thermostat housing is a common problem. Can anyone gives any pointers? Readings I should see on the diags or things I should check. I do have an OBD reader and OBDLink so I can see sensors but don't necessarily know what readings I should be seeing.

Please help, I love this car and it has now been off the road for nearly a month!!!

    Thanks

Does your OBD reader show any actual fault codes?
