Does anyone know what the socket size is for the fuel filter housing? It's the one with the paper insert as opposed to the canister type one. Also, does the top of the housing unscrew or does it just turn a bit and then lift off?

With the scammers your post has been ignored - I don't have an hdi engine anymore but from memory it was 21mm. It unscrews. Best practice is to partially unscrew so that the air hole is revealed (difficult to see until fully removed) then drain the engine oil which gives the oil in the filter time to drain away before fully removing. If you just unscrew and remove the oil goes a very long way indeed. Don't forget to replace the rubber oil sealing ring which goes all the way around the plastic housing. Locate the filter then push the plastic cover back on being careful not to cross the thread, screw down but don't overtighten, the rubber sealing ring will stop any leak without the need for tighteningOriginally posted by ChefExcellence View PostComment
