Hi all, I've just got a 16 plate manual 5 speed elegance 1.2 with less than 18,000 miles on the clock. It was brought from a very reputable local car dealer. I took the car out earlier for its first proper drive and have noticed a slight vibration coming through the clutch peddle, this is happening at all speeds, I put the car in neutral and coasted and could still feel vibration. Should I contact the dealer or is this normal. My last car had a rubber covering over the peddle so would have deadened vibration to a certain extent. Any advice would be appreciated.

Hi- welcome to the Club
Ive not driven the 1.2, but Ive never encountered a clutch vibration in any of the DS3s i have drive
Du you believe the issue is the clutch?
Could it be engine or suspension related?
Certainly take it back to the dealer, you only get a minimum of 3 months warrantysigpicJog on Noddy

Thanks Chris, pretty sure its a clutch issue. Bit surprised as it only has 17,778 on clock. Everything else is fine, apart from the fact I'm a bit pissed off about the mirrors don't fold back on a button (I have to reverse into a tight driveway, but hey). Bloody lovely car to drive.

When I had a clutch squeal problem on one of my DS3s, a mechanic told me to pull the handbrake right up, and rev the engine, and lift the clutch in gear
I really didnt want to do it, but I did for 2 or 3 ceconds, that horrible burning clutch smell, but it didnt squeal again.
Not suggesting you do that, but it worked on a squeal for me
Back to the dealers first, or go to a clutch specialist, and see if they can give you an opinion. If you suggest you could come to them for the work, they may give you a diagnosis.sigpicJog on Noddy

Just an update about my problem. or should I say my imagined problem. Dropped the car off yesterday and they supplied me with a curtesy motor. Guess what, I felt same slight vibration coming from the clutch peddle. I was going to go straight back, but thought sod it I'll let them have a look anyway. Their fitter had a look and said everything was fine, which I knew he would.
I guess that's what you get for googling problems, it makes every problem seem a major issue.
Thanks for the replies above, I don't suppose it will be the last time I ask a question on here. Infact I do have another one, doe's a new stop/start battery need to fitted by a specialist?
Nothing wrong with my battery, it was something I read in the manual the other day.
