Adblue topping up

It’s about the time when I’m expecting the icon to appear on dash but it didn’t happened yet.
therefore my questions are as follow if I may please :

1) should I wait for icon to lid on or should I top it up just now to avoid it coming on?

2)if the icon pops up do I need special device to clear it after topping up?

3)when buying adblue do I need to buy any specific type for my 1.6bluehdi? If so, what type is it and how much do I need?

I do it on a regular basis, why wait for a 'red flag' saying do it now? I have a 1.6l ish litre bottle which has a screw thread to top up with, its supposed to be a once only use but its easy to remove the top, refill from any 10 or 20 litre container of adblu and then screw it onto the filler, press down and it will empty. Mine was a citroen bottle but BMW and mercedes branded bottles are the same. Keep going until full. Why wait? No idea but it is so simple to do. Last adblu I bought was Aldi and price reduced so was very cheap indeed.
