  • DS3 Recall

    Sorry for the long post:
I’m hoping someone can help me, I have a 65 plate Ds3 petrol 1.2, she’s been working great up until recently. It started with a letter from Citroen telling me I was due a recall, however I never acknowledged it as I had no problems at the time. Well totally my fault as now my car won’t even move! It started with a warning sign on the computer screen saying Engine Fault: have repaired, however there was no other warning lights on the dashboard. Then over time, a couple of weeks to be exact, I put my foot down and the engine management light come on and the dashboard was telling me STOP! I managed to get it to a a garage, where they diagnosed it to being a oil pressure sensor, they replaced this. Once I drove it away from the garage the same thing happened again. I took it to another garage, again they diagnosed it from the computer which told them Oil pressure sensor!! As they knew it had recently been replaced, they checked with A Citroen garage who told them the fault was probably down to the recall. They reset the computer and sent me on my way. I booked it into Citroen for the recall to be repaired, which was a couple of days later and parked my car up. I’ve just gone to take it to the garage today, however I couldn’t even drive it for 1 second, before the STOP warning sign come on and out the car into Limp mode where o couldn’t build speed no more than 20mph. So...
1: can I remove the codes somehow so the computer acknowledges no fault so I can drive it again to get it to a garage?
    2. Do you think Citroen will collect the car FOC knowing it’s their fault as it’s not drivable?
    3. Any other advise is greatly appreciated

I think your behaviour is appalling. Your car has a recall on a safety issue and you ignore it. Then you have problems. Now you want Citroen to sort it out. Do you think they will be sympathetic? In your case I would contact your Citroen dealer and agree a course of conduct which will include you getting the car to them. Maybe in the future remember what happened. Citroen do not go to the expense of a safety recall unless they have to, and yet you ignored it, maybe do something different next time??
BTW Question 2 - No - its your fault that it is no longer driveable
