Charging the battery with positive terminal

Hi, this might be a bit of a silly question but I'm not sure how to go about it.


Because the negative terminal is hidden, can I charge the battery the same way as when I jump-start the battery? (by attaching the positive cable to the positive terminal and the negative cable to a metal part of the car) or when charging the car battery do I need to connect the negative to the terminal.

As long as the point you choose had a good electrical connection you can choose any point on the car, try to avoid painted surfaces as they may not allow proper electrical connection, the engine itself gives lots of opportunities for connections
