  • Dipped beams not working

    Hi folks,

    Hope you're all well

I've just had a scary moment in my DS3. Heading back from the supermarket (in the dark) and both dipped headlights went out at the same time.
I've checked the bulbs and 2 fuses in the engine bay and they're both fine.
The only other thing I could think is a relay but after looking in the manual there doesn't appear to be one for the headlights so I'm at a loss.

    Does anyone have any suggestions?

First thing i would check is that you are getting 12v to the connector into the dipped beam

Check for cable breakages. double check fuses as i checked mine on my Clio, then a week later found it was one of the fuses after all, i couldnt see the breakage. Replace fuse for new, or wrap a bit of fuse wire round it

And yes, relay could be the issue, Should be located in engine bay or around/under dash at a guess. Research needed

Thanks for the reply. Swapped out fuses and bulbs just in case. Wiring looks okay as far as I can see.

Research suggests either the COM2000 or BSM unit. Either one of those is less than ideal, but I guess French electronics get their reputation from somewhere.
MOT needed this month so time to be brave!
