We have a 14 plate DS3 Convertable 1.6 Dsport petrol engine and live on a remote Island with limited garage services over 30 miles away.
after arriving home fine the previous night, when goint to go to work after 20 yards it came up to stop engine low oil pressure. A travelling tyre fitter attended with his diagnostics but would only show faults P2337, 2339 super knock detection in cyliders 2 &4, and P15A1 Oil pressure too low in mechanical mode.
We discovered the dip stick was stuck solid about 2 " from fully in which my daughter admitted was like that for her the week before when checking the car over.
we tried several times to get it to move but in the end decided we have no choice but to remove the sump to see what was wrong.
we found a few pieces af a bocolite type hard brown plastic when checking the oil and a large 2"x 1" piece was jamed at the bottom of the dipstick feed pipe .
Is this plastic from the oil pump disintegrating ? Is the low pressure due to a fauklty oil pump or something else ?
