Knocking noise from engine

soooo my first post, i need help i am paying for a car that i cannot use.

there is a nocking noise that comes from the engine but...... not all the time. i started the car yesterday its been parked up for about 2 weeks since it was last started. it stared with the loud knocking then i revved it and it disappeard no knocking i revved it a few more times and it was fine then after about a min or two the knocking come back.

its been to a garage in august they diagnosed it as a new engine that the bottom end was done. could anyone tell me that if a engine was knocking would it do this all the time?

Hardly for me as an amateur over the internet, to question a professional dignosis made when the car was actully looked at, so i suspect they are more than likely correct

What engine is it? How many miles it done?

Knocking engine could be loads different things, depending on the knock

Lack of engine oil/ lubricating oil, bad spark plugs, insufficient fuel supply, pistons knocking. Fuel pump. oil pump................. could be anything really

Have you changed the engine oil and filter?
