Has anyone had rear parking sensors fitted after they brought the car? Looking at getting them on mine, but looking at Citroen doing it as I'm not too comfortable with letting my husband near it with a drill!!!! Are they any good?

Mine are after market fitted but Citroen did it for me.

They are good as far as I can tell... but tbh you more likely to crash your car with them as statistics show.

I only want them fitted because where I park at home its a small fence which you can't see through the back window, and I'm tired of gauging it by wondering if I've hit the fence or not :-)

I have them as standard, first time I have had them on a car and must say I think they are great and yes they do take away the guess work when reverse parking

fitting the sensors in the bumper is a doddle since they're in the black 'diffuser' part of the bumper which can be unclipped from the car as per the tow bar fitting instruictions that I've posted on here somewhere previously - the positions are marked on the inside too!

Let you husband have a go ..................a new piece shouldn't be expensive if any 'adjustments' are necessary!

My parking sensors are standard fit on my DS3 and I absoloutly loath them. The car has been in twice cos the damn things never shut up. I clean them and wash them and dry them off and they work well. After a short journey in the wet as soon as reverse is engaged off it goes even if there is nothing for miles around. Just get the triangle with the exclamation mark and constant warning. When I find which wire it is I is going to slice it in half.

I have them fitted front and rear and have had absolutely no problems at all, both were ordered at the same time and fitted by Citroen.

Royal sounds like one off the sensors is failing which is why you're getting the issue you mentioned. Pop into your dealer and have they run a test on them as the sensors should be replaced under the warranty.

Its been in twice for this problem BF and they reckon to have had them out and checked them etc. I am wondering if there is a conectivity problem. Thanfully I dont spend much time in reverse. I could always rig up a speaker and reproduce the warning to the outside of the vehicle save me putting the window down and bellowing " This vehicle is reversing " when the old fogies insist on walking behind me in the supermarket carpark.

Hmmm... I would suggest then if possible take your issue to a different dealer and have a fresh set of eyes look at it for you. The job is not that hard, we had something similar on a C3 a while ago. Popped the request to Citroen, authorised and job completed within a hour.

                        ^

Most things these days drive us mad! Worst thing on a car was the on board computer of my old Audi 100 which was obsessed with a side light bulb being out that it forgot to tell me that the fuel was low. I noticed that myself when I ran dry in the middle of no where!

They are quite good when they work, they are so low down they even help with high kurbs especially when doing 3 point turns. Where I park during the day, the kurbs are a riddiculous height.

To all D Style Plus owners.... do you get the graphic (i.e bars) on the central screen when reversing?
