Also my engine is making a funny noise but when I touch the clutch it goes then comes back again... its the HDi90... it only had a service 2 weeks ago now its playing up.. anyone had these problems?

I'm finding my gears to be pretty stiff when changing. Not sure if this is just how it is for everyone but it's stiffer than my previous cars. Clutch is down fully yet when trying to go to reverse, first or second(these are the worst) they need forcing in a little. I've never had to be so forceful with a new gear box before. Anyone experienced this? No noise just a little stiff and clunky through the gears.

I've had this problem from new as well it does get a bit easier once the engine is warmer and there's some more miles on the clock so just persevere Although second is sometimes that bad I have to go straight to third! I have near enough 10k on the clock so thinking of getting it checked out!

The diesel gearbox does tend to need a little warm up time before it goes more smooth, it's the same on all the other Citroen HDi's. With regards to reverse sometimes it does stick and not engage, this I'm afraid is a very common Citroen thing, just lift the clutch and go again and you will find it will pop in no problem.

Still maintain that that best DS3 gearbox is the one fitted to the VTi 120's.

I find my 110hdi gear box a little tough and clunky going into 1st and 2nd just over 5000 miles now. Glad I'm not the only one to notice this and good that they might 'smooth out' with a bit more time!
