  • My 6 faults which I've got with my DS3...

    Hello everyone,

Just thought I should share my experiences with my DS3 since I have had it since new. The never ending list of problems that is... I'll right my long list below instead of me going on for ages and boring the sheer hell out of you all.

    1. On pick up of my DS3 I folded the drivers seat down to have a look in the back, I pushed the seat back to find that the seat would no longer 'lock' back into driving position.
    2. The Volume controls on the steering wheel where completely broken and did not function correctly at all. This fault was also spotted on pick up. Not happy at this point...
    3. I had now been driving my beast of a machine for 3 months for then the 'Air Bag no activated' or something to that extent which made me feel like if I crashed I would die... (This ended up to be just an "incorrect error code". I believe this was to stop me from kicking off. Which I did anyway...
    4. The drivers seat started to squeak like a mouse (is that the animal or the little desert you get from the yogurt isle in Morrisons, either way I mean the animal) which completely drove me mad so I took it back and they informed me that no grease where on the runner so that was then lubed up and good as 'new'. Ha.
    5. My stereo will insist on searching for a clearer signal using RDS which I have turned off about 5674839756473829 times. Slightly annoying when your favourite song comes on.
    6. It tells me to top up with oil today which I have now done but constantly tells me to top up with more. If I top up anymore I think it might start coming out the buttons in the car. (I have not over filled it's just right on the dip stick rod thing.)

So there you have it, my completely amazing trouble free Citroen DS3.

    Ashley.

1 - Did you use the lower handle or the correct higher mounted one?
2 + 3 - This sounds like a communication fail with the COM unit, check it in with your dealer.
4 - They all do that, try moving the seat buckler, normally stops it.
5 - Leave the RDS and turn off the AF
6 - When you said it tells you to top up the oil, what message are you getting?

Thanks for coming back to me so quickly!

      1. I used the higher one and the man went into panic mode when it broke instantly... Surprised they didn't check simple things like this.
2-3. Well whatever they did, this is now fixed, along with a replacement volume control stick.
      4. Great!
      5. I shall try this when I next drive my car, which is tomorrow morning when I drive to the dealership.
      6. It literally says 'TOP UP OIL LEVEL' which I have....

I forgot to mention on my never ending problem list that the top line of my rear view heated screen doesn't work and I'm not sure if it ever did...
Also you can't change the brightness for the rev counter/screen/mph etc as it's broken...

I got the Friday car for sure..

Cheers mate, it's a complete nightmare at the moment. I like the look of it to much to get rid of it though... Plus I've spent too many hours cleaning the dam thing! Have fun with yours, hopefully you'll not get a Friday car. :P

If you have only just got this car you should return to your dealer and firmly, but politely, ask them to resolve the issues. Make sure you write everything down and have the Service manager sign to agree what is to be fixed, remind them of the possibility of rejection but you are giving them the chance to sort everything first.

If after that then you really have no option but to reject the car.
