That sounds exactly the same as mine was, the engine was cold and upon starting up in the morning the computer said the outside temp was 9 degrees and the engine temp was 101 degrees so there was no "choke" or increased revs to start so it just died as soon as you started and the temp gauge said hot so put the fans on all the time.
The garage replaced the coolant housing and temp sensor under warranty and its been absolutely fine since, apparently there's a different design on the current new cars.
Hope you get on alright tomorrow as it seems to be a known problem and will be fine when fixed
