Replacing OEM subwoofer

I've had a quick search but nothing has answered my question properly so I thought i'd ask

I've always had a subwoofer in the boot of my cars but I'm finding actually having boot space very convenient! Now the OEM sub isn't awful, but I find that it doesn't really hit as low as i'd like.

Now from my searches I believe the boot sub is 6.5"? I'm aware that subs around this size are more for punchy bass than "lowz" but i was hoping replacing it with a branded sub would produce better sound?

Has anyone replaced their OEM one? Would i have any difficulties doing a straight swap with the linked one above, I'm thinking depth might be an issue?

Also how much power is going to the standard sub?

I don't expect all these questions answered, and maybe the only way I'll find out is just to buy the above and hope But if anyone has any reason to believe I'm going to fail i'd like you to speak now and save me some dollar

Am thinking of changing mind as well but not sure if changing the speaking itself with a branded one will make the difference.

The OEM subwoofer is integrated - the amp/sub is one plastic unit on the RHS of the car, you'd need a seperate amp to power that JL you linked to; you'd also need a custom FB box made to fit into the existing location.

Like stonesy said it's sealed and can't be messed with, all i know how to do is connect a active sub up to the standard stup as i'm running the standard sub and a 12" vibe active sub but you lose half the boot.
