  • Airbag light

Don't know if this is normal so I thought I'd ask you guys.

When I first start up my ds3 the orange light that looks like a baby seat with a cross through it stays on for awhile even after the engine has started. I would say it stays on for about 3 mins then goes off.

    Is this normal?

    Thanks in advance Pete.

Yep normal, & for me the amount of time it stays on varies quite a bit.

I was wondering about the same thing in the beginning, until it never went off and the satnav screen told me the airbag or seatbelt was faulty.
Had it fixed and now she does the 1minute thing as normal

If you want to know why then read on......

                    ....sitting comfortably?

The light stays on for the time it does because the passenger airbag is calibrating it's self, there is a weight sensor on the passenger seat which allows the airbag to deploy with the correct force which is why the light takes it time as it does.

What if i stop to pick up a passenger? I'm going to check and see if the light comes back on when someone enters after ignition...

If you want to be seriously safe then turn of the engine and let it re calibrate. AT the end of the day it's an added safety feature so you should be over the moon about it
