  • squeeky drivers seat how to remove the seat to find cause

has anyone removed drivers seat to find out what causes the squeek when drivng.
this noise is apparent at different heights most noticable(i think) at the right buttock area when sat driving.
this is very annoying and a real pain in the ar*e.
any instructions to remove , had it back to dealers they cant hear it, this has got worse and i cant be bothered to go to dealers on another trip so they have the car a full day.
    might as well look myself.

Check that it's not the seat-belt buckle - mine squeaks like a greased pig without regular squirts of WD40.

I thought it was my seat and it was my daughter's boyfriend who said 'it's the seat belt buckle Clive' and he was right, a slight movement of the buckle and it's gone...

Yep I've had two ds3's and they both squeak. It's actually the seatbelt buckle, it stops if you move it or I reckon a bit of grease would do the trick, I've not greased mine through fear of getting it on seats lol

Hi, I ' ve removed both my seats and replaced the with 207gti seats. First , most important thing is to remove the battery cables and wait 30 minutes to 1 hour. This allows time for the safety systems to disapate the power. If you do it with the battery connected it will leave the airbag light on and you will need to go to the dealer to have it reset. Remove the 4 screws in the bottom of the seat and undo the cable. The job is easy but just remember to unhook the battery.

Squeaky seats are normally caused by the seat belt buckle as mention above, the constant movement of it causes the bolt to slacken which in turn causes the noise.

Other options could be seat connector rubbing under the seat so do check the cables or the mounting bolts holding the seat runner on.

Will be near the drivers seat belt anchor by the door (black bar the seat blet is on) you need to get some tunap 104 on there to stop it squeeking and keep the belt from drying out. Common problem for some DS3's

                              Additional squeaking sources:

Coat hangar back of seat if fitted
                              Sat nav mounts
                              Mobile phone mounts
                              Air vent loose/vibrate
                              Stuff stored in centre console
                              Glove box
                              Door storage stuff

                              Feel free to add
