hi guys can any one help me with this problem.
my oil level low warning has come on. trouble is i am having difficultly in reading my dipstick indicator
anyone know how much oil to put in when the warning comes on .i dont want to overfill thanks

Should be a litre between the "low" & "full" marks on the dipstick. If you're down to the level where the warning light's come on you may be below the "low" mark on the dipstick - put half a litre in & see where it comes up, then you can estimate how much more you need to get up to "full".

The knurled section on the dipstick shows the permissible oil level limits.

Yes, please let us know what model and engine as it helps to see if its a known/common problem or not?

When you said "oil level" are you referring to the indicator which appears within the fuel gauge ring or this -

The reason I ask is that the red oil can light is the most common misunderstood light as it refers to oil PRESSURE and not low oil.

If you search for oil leak problems on the forum I think there have been problems with the 120bhp?

Different cars use different amounts of oil in between services and its always a good idea to check every so often:eek:
